Sub: Maintenance of Logs on Console.

Compiroller& Auditor General of India (CAG) in Report No. 34 of 2010-11 had inter-
alia observed that reservation transactions had taken place on the PRS system when the server
was down. When the matter was examined, it was found that there is a variation in the Down-
time as per system log taken out from the server and the console log maintained manually by
the Railways. With a view to avoiding the variation in the two records of Down-time, it is
desired that CRIS may develop a utility for taking out a report the Down-time from the
system if it is not already available and advise Zonal Railways of the same.

2. Zonal Railways may issue necessary instructions to all concerned to extract the down-
time report taken from the server as a record of the actual Down-time and accordingly ensure
that there is no variation between the down-time as per system log of the server and that
maintained manually in the console log.

3. Please ensure that the action be taken accordingly.

भारत के नियंत्रक एवं महालेखापरीक्षक ने 2010-11 की रिपोर्ट सं.34 में अन्य बातों के साथ-
साथ यह पायां था कि सर्वर के बंद होने के बाद भी आरक्षण संबंधी संव्यवहार किया गया है। इस मामले
की जांच किए जाने पर यह पाया गया कि सर्वर से लिए गए सिस्टम लॉग और रेलों द्वारा मैन्युअल रूप से
रखे जा रहे कन्सोल लॉग के डाउन-टाइम में अन्तर था। डाउन-टाइम के दो रिकॉर्डों में इस अंतर को दूर
करने के उद्देश्य से यह वांछा को जाती है कि सिस्टम से डाउन-टाइम को रिपोर्ट लेने के लिए क्रिस एक
यूटिलिटी यदि यह पहले से उपलब्ध नहीं है तो तैयार करें तथा इसके बारे में ज़ोनल रेलों को सूचित He

2. जोनल रेलें; सर्वर से लिए गए डाउन-टाइम रिपोर्ट के विवरण को वास्तविक डाउन-टाइम के
रिकॉर्ड के रूप में लेने के लिए सभी संबंधितों को आवश्यक अनुदेश जारी करें और तदनुसार यह
सुनिश्चित करें कि सर्वर के सिस्टम लॉग तथा Healer लॉग में मैन्युअल रूप से रखे जा रहे डाउन-टाइम
के बीच कोई अंतर न हो |
