a) Voter Identity Card

b) Passport

d) Driving License and e)Photo Identity Card issued by Central/State Government.

1.1 A large number of representations have been received in this office for accepting Student Identity Cards, Ration Cards, Nationalised Bank Passbook with photograph etc. as proof of identity for travelling on e-tickets.

The matter has been reviewed and it has been decided that the following two proofs of identity may also be accepted as proof for travelling on e-tickets:-

(i) Student Identity Card with photograph issued by recognized School/ College for their students.

(ii) Nationalised Bank Passbook with photograph.

It is, however, reiterated that no concession including student' concession will be admissible to the persons booking e-tickets except concession for senior citizens.

Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned particularly ticket checking staff so as to educate them about this modified provision and to avoid inconvenience to the passengers. A watch may also be kept on the utilization of the newly introduced modified facility and the cases of misuse, if any, may be reported to this office. This provision will be given effect from' 15-06-2010.
