Sub: Running of “Tatkal Special” Trains

The issue regarding running of special trains as Premium Trains or on Tatkal fare
has been under consideration of Board’s office. The matter has been examined and it has
been decided that all special trains which are not being run as Premium Trains on Dynamic
Pricing basis, will be run on Tatkal fare with the following conditions:-

(i) In case the demand is there for both the directions, Tatkal fare shall be charged
for both the directions. However, if the demand is only in one direction, Tatkal
fare shall be charged for one direction and for other direction for which there is
less demand, normal fare can be charged.

(ii) | The Advance Reservation Period of these trains can be with a minimum period
of 10 days to maximum period of 60 days.

2. The decision for (i) & (ii) above shall be taken by Zonal Railways keeping in view
the demand pattern and with the approval of Chief Commercial Manager.

3. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
