Sub: Tallying of ticket stock number printed by
_., Computer with the pre-printed ticket stock

AS per extant instructions, ECRCs issuing tickets’ are

supposed to tally the ticket stock number printed by the computer _

with the. pre-printed ticket stock number. Central Railway while
referring to this issue has: advised that operators are issuing ticket
~ bearing mis-match tickets stock continuity, check nurmber- printed
by the system, due to which passengefs.face difficulties at the time

of cancellation and has suggested that ‘to avoid this problem, ticket _
stock number should be printed in bold letters to reduce the issue —

of mis-match ticket to some extent.

. The issue was referred to CRIS, who has advised that it is

obligatory on the part of clerks issuing tickets to match’ the pre-
printed stock number before the tickets is delivéred to the
passenger, however, the same is not being done by ECRCs. Earlier

only last 3 digits of the ticket stock number were being printed and
after the implementation of CONCERT networking, all the 8 digits of.

the ticket stock number are being printed by the computer below

the pre-printed ticket stock number. CRIS has suggested that even:
by making the tickets stock number bold, it is not necessary: that:

the ECRCs will compare it with the pre-printed ‘ticket ‘stock number,

Ministry of Railways, therefore, desire that necessary
instructions may be issued to all concerned to invariably compare
the ticket stock number’printed by the computer with the pre-
printed ticket number, before issuing the tickets.
