Chief Commercial Managers, All zonal Railways ः COMMERCIAL CIRCULAR NO. 24/2008 Sub: Magisterial Scheme for check and prevention of ticketless travel — Extension of - Beyond 31.3.2008. The Magisterial scheme for check and prevention of ticketless travel on Indian Railways was last extended upto 31.3.2008. 2. The Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) have decided to extend the scheme for a further period of six months i.e. from 1.4.2008 to 30.09.2008. The posts of Railway Magistrates may, therefore, be extended upto 30.09.2008. ं 3. As per Ministry of Home Affairs’ letter No.9/7/79-Judi-Cell dated 14.7.1982 (copy enclosed), circulated vide Board’s letter No.78/Ticket Checking/1036/1 dated 20.8.1982, the entire cost of Magistrates, their court staff and the police force attached to them should be borne by the State Governments and the fines should be credited to them.
