Sub: Misuse of fraudulent tickets.

It-has been'reported to the Ministry of Railways by Northern and
Western Railways that a few cases have come to the notice of thelr railways
where PRS tickets have been fraudulently printed. These tickets are being used
for obtaining rail reservation for second leg of journeys on authority of the

. fraudulent ticket as pre bought ticket. The aim appears to be to legitirnize the
second feg of journey with a proper reservation slip with the name of passenger

inthe chart

Visual examination of this tickets clearly shows the difference in printing
style as well as spelling errors which is very easy. to notice. When this tickets
were checked for PNR No, on the system, it was shown as Invalid PNR No

Ministry of Railways desire that instructions may be issued to all the |

staff to verify the pre bought ticket presented to:‘them very-very carefully before
providing reservation. Enquiry cum Reservation Clerks should also be asked
to invariably verify the genuineness of the ticket by verifying the status by PNR
No. printed on the tickets and in case of any such doubt.efforts should be made
to catch hold of the passengers presenting the tickets. .
