Sub:- Variable Fare Scheme under Dynamic Pricing Policy – 
Other charges for Special Trains/ Special Coaches  during 
Busy Season  .  
 
 
Ref:- Board’s letter of even number dated 16.2.2007 
 
 
(Commercial Circular No.18/2007) 
 
Variable Fare Scheme under Dynamic Pricing Policy for booking of Special 
Trains/ Special Coaches has been introduced. 
 
The Busy Season and Lean Season shall be as under:- 
Lean period   
1st July to 30th September  
 
Busy period  
1st April to 30th June and  
  
 
 
 
1st October  to 31st March 
Accordingly, the following changes should be made applicable in Busy 
Season. 
 
(a) 
Empty Haulage Charges (Item 5) 
Empty Haulage Charges will be levied at actual distance of empty haul at 
75% of Full Tariff Rate (FTR) subject to minimum haulage charges for 200 Kms 
during Busy Season. 
 
(b) 
Detention Charges (Item 9) 
 
Detention charges will be levied @ Rs.900 per hour or part of an hour per 
coach subject to minimum of Rs.1500/- per coach during Busy Season. 
 
All other instructions will remain unchanged. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
These changes in above rates will take effect from 4.3.2007. 
  
These changes in haulage rates and other charges effective from 
18.2.2007 are subject to revision once in three years on a periodic basis 
regularly.  
 
This issue with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry 
of Railways.
