Sub: Proposed._revision in Reservation Fee & Supplementary charge for
Superfast Trains & withdrawal of Enhanced Reservation Fee.

Tt has been announced in Railway Budget 2013-14 for revision of Reservation Fee,
Supplementary charge for Superfast Trains & withdrawal of Enhanced Reservation Fee. The
details of these revisions are as under:- ः _

= iii, । Enhanced Reservation Fee:- The Enhanced reservation fee which is levied on tickets
booked for journeys originating from other than the ticket booking station, like return
tickets, onward journey tickets, etc. is proposed to be withdrawn.

2. Service tax will be levied as applicable as per instructions issued in this regard.
3.. These charges will be applicable on tickets issued on or after 01.04.2013.

Wherever applicable, until new tickets are printed, old printed card tickets may be issued after
having necessary corrections in fares made on them in advance, Such alterations by the staff
should be made preferably by stamp or in ink. A suitable notice in the Press should be given
by the Railways advising that till such time new tickets are printed and made available, the
existing tickets with alterations in fares on them would be issued.

4, The Fare List displayed to the public at stations should be revised and corrected
showing the new charges with effect from 01.04.2013. Commercial Inspectors and TIAs
should visit all important stations and ensure that fares and other charges are levied and tickets .
issued as per the revised rates. Commercial Officers should also make surprise checks at
stations and ensure that the charges are levied with effect from 01.04.2013 at the revised rates.

5. This letter is issued as an advance intimation of the proposed revisions. A draft
circular for incorporating these changes in_manual ticketing system ai ticketing system_and in PRS, UTS, ete.,
should be kept ready but shoul ready but should be issued only after receipt of Board’s sanction in this regard. this regard.

6. Special arrangements should be made to ensure that necessary instructions reach the
staff well in time. Steps should also be taken to ensure that the staff fully understand these
changes and implement them properly. .

7, This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.

8. The receipt of this letter may be acknowledged. Also please check these instructions
on the Indian Railways ‘website - www.indianrailways.gov.in. oo,

9, Zonal Railways should arrange wide publicity to the revision in these charges w.e.f.
01.04.2013 and related instructions through the press, media and through notifications and
armouncements at stations.

10. | Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately and compliance
ensured, Suitable modifications in various softwares may also be done on top priority.
