SUB: Provision of discount of 0.5% to customers of suburban sections on
booking of season tickets when payment is made through digital means.
REF: Commercial Circular no. 75 of 2016 dated 23.12.2016
_. In supersession of Commercial Circular no. 75 of 2016 dated 23.12.2016,
Ministry of Railways havedecided that 0.5% discount should be given on total
applicable fare on the season tickets (Monthly, quarterly, Half yearly, yearly) over
suburban section when the payment is made through digital means i.e through debit
cards, credit cards, etc.
2. Discounted amount should not be rounded off and exact discounted fare shall be
charged from the passenger(s). A few illustrations for calculating the discount and
charging of fares after discount are given below:-
A, From Howrah to Liluah Howrah to Liluah:

3. The 2” class and ‘st class fares as given in the above table are only illustrative.

4. Rounding-off of fares principle as given in para 5 of Explanatory Notes of Coaching
Tariff No. 26 (Part-I!) shall not apply while calculating the 0.5% discount and charging of
fare for season tickets booked through digital means .
_ 5. Final fare will be arrived at by deducting the discount from the existing total season
ticket fare. No further rounding off principle shall be applicable on such final fare since
there ‘shall be no issue of counter change .
6. The above shall be applicable for both 2" class and 1* class season tickets
7. The above shall be implemented w.e.f. 15-02-2017 to 31-03-2017.
. 8. CRIS and IRCTC shall ensure necessary. changes in the software and arrangements

10, Wide publicity may be given through print and electronic media DD & AIR and at stations
