Sub: Rationalization of fare of AC ordinary services running over suburban
sections.

In continuation to above mentioned Commercial Circulars, Ministry of Railways
have decided to rationalize single journey basic fare of AC ordinary services running
over suburban sections w.e.f. 05.05.2022 as per the enclosed Fare Table (Annexure-l).
In addition to above, single journey basic Fare for First class of ordinary train services
over suburban section has. also been rationalized as per enclosed Fare Table
(Annexure-ll).

2. There shall be no change in season ticket basic fare for AC and First class of ordinary
services running over suburban section. Basic fare Table for weekly, fortnightly and
monthly Season tickets for AC ordinary services over suburban section are also
enclosed herewith (Annexure-lll).

3. Basic fare for Quarterly Season Tickets (QST), Half yearly season Tickets (HST) and
Yearly season tickets (YST) shall be calculated as per the existing approved principles
@2.7, 5.4 & 10.8 times of Monthly season tickets basic fare applicable for AC locals
respectively.

4. Other charges: Supplementary surcharges like MUTP, CIDCO etc as applicable for
first class shall be levied additionally.

5. GST as applicable shall be levied, as per instructions issued from time to time.
6. Rounding off of fares shall continue to be done as per existing principles.

7. All other existing terms and conditions applicable for AC ordinary services running
over Suburban section shall remain same.

8. The changes which are required to be carried out in manual ticketing swstem and
PRS, UTS etc, should be ensured.

9. Special arrangements should be made to ensure that necessary instructionas and the
revised fare informed to the staff well in advance. Steps shall also be taken to ensure
that the concerned staff fully understands these changes and implement them Properly.

10. The receipt of this letter may be acknowledged. Also please check these instructions
on the Indian Railways ‘website’-www.indianrailways.gov.in.

11. Zonal Railways shall arrange to give wide publicity, the revision in faress through
press, media and also through notifications and announcements at stations.
