The Principal Chief Commercial Managers, All Indian Railways.

Sub: Fare structure of AC-3tier Economy coach.

Ministry of Railways have decided to introduce AC-3 tier Economy coach on the following fare structure and terms & conditions:

1. The fare structure of AC-3 tier Economy coach shall be as under:-

1.1. Base fare for 3AC Economy coach shall be 2.4 times of base fare of the existing Sleeper class coach of Mail/Express trains. (Fare table attached).

1.2. Other charges like reservation fee, superfast surcharge, Goods and service tax etc., as applicable for 3AC classes shall be levied separately.

2. Other provisions:

2.1.Newly introduced 3AC Economy coach_ shall be attached = in Mail/Express/Superfast services.

2.2 Normal Child fare rules will apply as applicable for existing 3AC coaches of Mail/Express trains.

2.3. Concession/Free Complimentary passes shall be, at par with the existing 3d AC Coach of Mail/Express trains as per extant guidelines.

2.4. The eligibility of Privilege pass/PTO for Railway employees shall be at par with eligibility in 3AC coaches of Mail/Express trains.

2.5. Booking of tickets against Passes issued to Member of Parliaments and Rail travel coupons (RTCs) issued to MLA/MLCs, fully reimbursable Warrants/ Vouchers shall be permissible as per the existing provision of 3AC coaches for Mail/Express services.

2.6. Refund Rules: Normal cancellation and refund rule for AC-3tier class of Mail/Express shall apply.

2.7 All other terms and conditions like downgrading of AC -3tier to CC class, bulk booking etc shall be same as that of existing 3AC coaches of Mail/Express trains.

3.0 CRIS is requested to make necessary changes in the software.
