Sub: Launch of SMS Alert service to passengers - feeding of
Mobile numbers of passengers.
It has been decided to launch the SMS-Alert service to all passengers
holding reserved tickets for sending post chart preparation status to
RAC/waitlisted passengers through SMS on the mobile numbers furnished by
the passengers/representatives in the reservation form. The SMS-alert scheme
will go ‘live’ shortly.
2. The_revised_reservation form indicating provision for mobile revised reservation form indicatin rovision for mobile
number is enclosed herewith. There is already a provision in the existing
reservation form for indicating telephone number. Till the revised reservation
requisition forms indicating provision for mobile numbers are made available,
the passengers may be asked to indicate the mobile numbers in the column
“telephone number”. Zonal Railways may issue necessary instructions to the
reservation/booking staff to ensure that the mobile numbers of the passengers/
representatives (if mentioned in the reservation form), are invariably fed into
the system so that SMS alert regarding the status of ticket can be sent to them.
3. Necessary instructions in this regard may be issued to all concerned.
