Sub: Defining of abbreviation as well as code for Vistadome coaches.

Ref: This office letter no. 2006/TG-/20/P dated 20.02.2007 (CC No. 13 of 2007)

Vide letter referred to above, abbreviations of different types of coaches were circulated to all zonal Railways. Subsequently, Anubhuti class, Vistadome and AC-3 tier Economy coaches were introduced which were given the code EA, EV and 3E respectively.

Recently a reference has been received to give code to Non-AC vistadome coaches. It has been decided to give it the code ‘VS’ and the coach code to be displayed outside will be ‘DV’. Hence, now the booking code and coach abbreviation for different types of coaches will be as under:

C= 25 class/Day journey reserved second class coaches of Intercity Trains
