Sub : Provision of catering services in Vande Bharat Sleeper.
Ref : Commercial Circular No.03 of 2026.
Vide Commercial Circular referenced above, fare structure of Vande
Bharat Sleeper Express has been notified for 1AC, 2AC & 3AC classes,
which is all inclusive.
In reference to provision of catering services in Vande Bharat Sleeper
Express, following is advised:
1. Catering services will be provided as an integral part of services within
the fare
notified
in
the
fare table for
all
classes of services vide
Commercial Circular referenced above. As such, catering charges will not
be levied separately.
2. For making provision of catering services in Vande Bharat Sleeper
trains, respective Zonal Railway shall reimburse @Rs.0.4/- per passenger
per km (excluding GST) to IRCTC from the fare already notified. GST
shall be applied as per extant instructions.
3.
IRCTC shall provide catering services to all
passengers of Vande
Bharat Sleeper Express, depending upon journey time between each O-D
pair of stations.
4. IRCTC shall decide the requirement of services (i.e. Lunch, Dinner,
Morning tea, & Evening tea) to passengers between each O-D pair of
stations and fix the menu of each service accordingly within the above
mentioned reimbursement charge.
5. One lire 'Rail Neer' packaged drinking water bottle and newspaper
will be provided to all passengers irrespective of journey time by IRCTC
within the same reimbursement charges. No separate reimbursement on
this account shall be made.

6. Information regarding provision of catering services to passengers of
Vande
Bharat
Sleeper
Express
should
be
notified
by
IRCTC
for
information of passengers and Railways.
7. All other extant instructions as applicable for premium prepaid trains
shall continue to be followed.
