Sub: Reviewof Sale of tickets and earnines 011branch lines.
On one of the divisions of a Zone it was found that only 17 tickets are
being booked per day in the branch line on which 7 pairs of passenger trains
were running, The sale went up immediately after the ticket checking was
enforced in the section.
With immediateeffect, all the Sr.DCMs should be advised to carry
out a review of all the branch lines on their divisions.
' A 3 days survey should
be done on each branch line under the supervision of an officer for bench
markingof the actual and potentialsale of tickets in that section,alongwith
the passengerearnings. The bench mark should then be monitoredat all the
levelsincludingStationManagerandCommercialInspectors,
A confirmation should be sent to Board by all the Zonal Railways for
having complied with the above instructions within a month.
