Sub; Standardisation of signags ardisation of signages of stations.

Please refer to Board’s letter of even number dated 11.3.99 on the above mentioned
subject. । : ः

It has been brought to the notice of Ministry of Railways that difficulties are being
experienced in. renovating the signages at the stations as per Board's letter dated 11.3.99
ibid through publicity route at the stations where the publicity value is not very high. In
this connection, Ministry of Railways desire that the following steps may be taken :-

1. The existing value of commercial publicity at the station may be calculated.
2 Thereaficr estimate may, be taken from civil engineering and electrical departments for
the signages which are required lo be provided by ihe private entrepreneurs by giving

lw - game specifications.
3. After these two are done, the value in first case and the cost in the second case may be
“ny computed and final financial implications be computed.
\ 4. Financial implications in some cases will be positive and in some cases it will be
negative.

5. Where the financial implications are positive ie. Railways get net revenue, the reserved
9 price should be kept at that value.
) {6. Where it is negative; offer should be made to get the best offer available.
| “7. If two successive biddings are not responsive in thal case the signages should be
improved by using the passenger amenities fund by following the existing procedure:
departmentally. )

After calculating the above financial implications, the issue may be sorted out by the
a, onal Railway in consultation with their FA & CAO. ,
