Text of the circular

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAIL WAYS RAILWAY BOARD No.2020/Catering/600/01/Pt.2 The Principal Chief Commercial Managers, All Zonal Railways.

New Delhi, Dated:

10/0912020 CMD,IRCTC, Statesman House Building, Barakhambha Road, New Delhi.

Sub: Provision of Platform Vending through Static Unit by IRCTC.

Ref: (i) Commercial Circular No.52 of2018.

(ii) Board's Letter of even number dated 31.05.2020.

(iii) NCR's letter No. C-97/Catg.policy-17 /NCRJPt.l dated 04/0712020

(iv)WR's Letter No. C 45/15/1-Platform Vending dated 05.08.2020

(v) NWR's letter dated 25.08.2020 This refers to the above mentioned Zonal Railways' references regarding Board's letter dated

31.05.2020 mentioned above vide which uniformity in the application of platform vending for both IRCTC and IR has been sought.

The special delegation to IRCTC in respect of platform vending on their static catering units, was an urgent temporary measure to allow IRCTC to expeditiously ensure adequate catering services to special trains which were scheduled to start operations from 01.06.2020, in a post- covid lockdown situation when most static stalls were closed.

The matter has been reviewed and it is also noted that the number of catering/vending units at stations have progressively become operational.

Hence it has been decided to withdraw the special delegation given vide Board's letter 31.05.2020 w.e.f. 25.09.2020 i.e. 15 days from the date of issue of this letter.

Zonal Railways will continue to be governed by CC No.52 of2018.

The quantum of platform vending may be decided by Zonal Railways in view of catering requirements on that station, while ensuring that due representation is given to IRCTC static units too.

This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
