The Railway Services (Conduct) Rules, 1966 In the Railway Services (Conduct) Rules, 1966, for rule 11, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:- “11. Communication of Official Information. – Every Railway servant shall, in performance of his duties in good faith, communicate information to a person in accordance with the Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005) and the rules made thereunder: Provided that no Railway servant shall, except in accordance with any general or special order of the Government or in performance in good faith of the duties assigned to him, communicate, directly or indirectly, any official document or any part thereof or classified information to any Railway servant or any other person to whom he is not authorized to communicate such document or classified information.” (Authority: Railway Board’s letter No.E(D&A) 2005/GS1-5 dated 21/2/2006)
