Amendment to Rule 11 of Railway Services (Conduct) Rules, 1966.

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby directs that Rule 11 of Railway Services (Conduct) Rules, 1966, contained in Appendix-I of Indian Railway Establishment Code-Vol.-I, Fifth Edition, 1985 (2003 reprint) may be amended as in the Advance Correction Slip No. 97 enclosed herewith.

Appendix-I-Railway Services (Conduct ) Rules, 1966

Advance Correction Slip No. 97 .

In the Railway Services (Conduct) Rules, 1966, for rule 11, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:-

"11.

Communication of Official Information. - Every Railway servant shall, in performance of his duties in good faith, communicate information to a person in accordance with the Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005) and the rules made thereunder :

Provided that no Railway servant shall, except in accordance with any general or special order of the Government or in performance in good faith of the duties assigned to him, communicate, directly or indirectly, any official document or any part thereof or classified information to any Railway servant or any other person to whom he is not authorised to communicate such document or classified information."
