GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (RAILWAY BOARD)

No. E(W) 2000/WE-2/2 New Delhi, dated: 14th Dec., 2000

General Managers, All Indian Railways and Production Units, etc.

Sub: Holiday Homes.

Ref: Board’s letter No. ECW) 2000/WE-2/2, dated- 7-12-2000.

In terms of Advance Correction Slip No. 7 & 8 to LR.E.M. Volume-II issued vide Board’s letter referred to above (RBE No.212/2000), thereby amending provisions regarding Holiday Homes, paras-2(c); 2(d); 2(f) and 3(a) to

(d) of the Master Circular on 2/90 on “Holiday Homes” issued under Board’ letter No. E(W)90/WE-2/2, dated 6-9-1990 may be modified and substituted by the following :-

2(c) The Railway Administrations are authorised to incur an outlay not exceeding Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten lakhs only_ each and if a building is hired, to incur recurring expenditure not exceeding Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) per month as rent in each case. The terms of hire should be not to involve the Railway in long-term or indefinite liability beyond one or two years _on each occasion.

2(d) There should be three types of accommodation viz. for Gazetted Officers Group-C and Group-D

2() Railway Administrations are empowered to provide the necessary essential equipment, such as utensils, furniture and recreational facilities, etc. the

cost of which should also be within the ceiling limit of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten lakhs only) referred to at (c) above

3. (a) Lodging charges to be recovered form serving Railway Officers an form serving Railway Officers and Staff:

3. (b) Charges to be recovered from Retired Railway Servants:

(ii) Officers upto and inclusive of JAG Rs.35

(ii) Group ‘C’ Rs.25 (1v) Group ‘D’ Rs.12

The revised charges for occupation of holiday homes wouid be effective from Ist January, 2001.

This issues with concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
