Classification of Iron Ore accorded for revising the Distance Based Charge leviable on booking of Iron Ore traffic

Sub: Classification of Iron Ore Ref: Rates Circular No. 36 of 2009- Addendum No. 15 dated 05.03.2012 1.0 in terms of Rates Circular referred above, sanction of the Central Government was accorded for revision of Distance Based Charge (DBC) on the booking of Iron Ore traffic meant for other than domestic consumption for manufacture of lron & Steel and Cement. The DBC had been revised from time to time and the last revision was issued vide Addendum No. 15 to Rates Circular No. 36 of 2009 dated 05.03.2012. 2.0 There has been significant change in the market of export iron ore and hence the issue of DBC has been reviewed. Sanction of the Central Government is hereby accorded for revising the Distance Based Charge leviable on booking of Iron Ore traffic meant for other than domestic consumption over all distance slabs as per the following table: | Distance in Kms __|_—sODistance based Charge > 0 - 200° = 300 ) 201 - 300 ः = 300 । 301 - 400 = 300 | 401 - 500 fo. = 300 601 - 700 fe _...... रे 300 | | > 700 ् = 300 ः 3.0 All other terms and conditions stipulated in Rates Circular No.36 of 2009, as amended from time to time, will continue to apply unchanged. 4.0 Monthly appreciation reports should be furnished by 7" of following month for Board’s consideration. 5.0 These instructions will come into force w.e.f. 08.09.2015 and will remain in force till 31.03.2016. 6.0 This issues in consultation with Traffic Transportation Directorate and « concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
